Of course you knew what was going on. That is hardly surprising. To me, at least, the difference isn’t even about what you believed as opposed to anyone else.
You were, essentially, still the enemy so why should you be expected to tell them anything? It isn’t as if you were actually friends or allies at the time.
Oh, I agree with you, but... one could make a case that while I was attempting to prove my good intentions with them, that small details like that should've been included.

Maybe someone could argue that, yes. Though, again, you weren’t a trusted companion who shouldn’t hide such big secrets. Keeping those facts hidden weren’t going to, ultimately, betray something deeper.
